As much as I love documentary and storytelling sessions, family portraits are important for memory keeping too. My experience with them are often a result of family members being in the same place at the same time, which sometimes can be rare. This session is no different – my friends, Janine and Brent, have family in town because of a very special wedding taking place this summer. Teeny, Janine’s mother, took this opportunity to have some family portraits photographed because their family has just gotten bigger for the best reasons: a new daughter-in-law, Elizabeth, and a new grand baby girl, Brooke :). Janine suggested the top of Burnaby Mountain in late afternoon. Perfect for light and flowers 🙂
What beautiful subjects I have! They are such naturals in front of the camera, Brooke included! She was such a sweet, gentle, easy baby the entire shoot. So content I didn’t hear a cry from her the entire time! It’s evident that her grandparents just adore her; the way they look at their little precious B. Janine & Brent’s fur baby, Lexi, is the sweetest big sister – just rolling with whatever Brooke does with her! Janine came from a family of three siblings and when I asked her and Brent if they were ready to have another, she said definitely in the future but Brent is ready now :). It’s no wonder, as he flexes his firefighter arms to hoist her up trees and into the blue sky above, loving life with his baby girl. It’s sweet to see the wonderful happiness that is present in this family held together by Teeny and Bert. Their wonderful example as parents has no doubt helped with the great choices their children have made in their life partners. Just look at how happy Janine and Brent are!
Gary and Elizabeth, congratulations on your wedding day! To Teeny and Bert, thank you for asking me to capture some portraits for you and your family! And to Janine & Brent and sweet baby girl, Brooke, I am so happy to see the love that has filled your life together. I’ll patiently await the news of another addition, whenever that will be ;)!
