Vancouver Family Photographer | Of Locks and Love, The Kara Family
A couple of sunny Saturdays ago, I was invited to this sweet family’s home for a session to document their regular morning routine. The smell of sweet batter filled my senses when I walked through the front door. Azmina and her little guy, Kamren, are baking for a baby shower that they are hosting the next day. As Kamren is licking the wooden spoon like batter is going out of style, Azmina looks adoringly at him, coffee in hand, unsure if she should laugh or limit his sugar intake. Meanwhile, her husband, Asif, is doing his best to curb a cell phone crisis so that he can be once again be connected to his working world. Being the easy-going person that she is, Azmina simply laughs as Asif is trying to troubleshoot data transfer between two cell phones. “This is what our weekends are like! Asif has to work through it but we find time to hang out as much as possible”.
So that’s what we did. Hang out. Baking with mom. Garden work with dad. A family forest walk. Cuddles with Cosmo, their 14-yr old dog. Jenga for everyone. And don’t forget the best padlock and combination lock collection ever owned by a 5-year old boy. Kamren showed me all the different ways he can secure his prized possessions, which in this case happens to be two iPads in his lunch box. When asked what he wants to be when he grows up, Kamren said – security. With the charm, determination, and confidence of this little man, I have no doubt he can steer himself in that direction, or any direction, that he chooses! Thank you Kara family for the fabulous Saturday morning I got to spend with you!
