Vancouver Family Photographer | Of silt, mud, and geologists
Ever since Liane and Cam moved away to Thunder Bay a few years ago, they've always had their sights set back to Vancouver. On their visit with family this summer, they asked for an extended family session near the beach where they were staying. As I was waiting to meet them for their session, I got a phone call from Liane. Beau, her little guy, was not having any of this day and all the best laid plans seem to be falling apart at the last moment. Goodness knows we've all been there. Somedays, life doesn't turn out to be all roses. But here is our chance to turn these lemons into our very own lemonade stand!
Tides don't always coincide with naps, or with gorgeous sunsets. Sometimes they happen at high noon under the hot sun. This is the same as everyday life. As soon as this foursome set foot on the warm mucky beach, their worries melted away. The making of silt pies began, nerdy discussions about the make up of the beach exchanged, and funny memories of our younger years as geologists shared. Despite over a decade of knowing each other has passed, one thing is for certain. Liane is still the dreamer she is when I first met her. Her ability to dream big and her attitude of anything is possible will be one of the driving forces for bringing her family back to the west coast. I look forward to that day and hope that this mining industry will turn around so that we can start our exploration company together ;).
In the meantime, these images will be a reminder of that dream. Their west coast life to be, once again.
