Thank goodness nights come late in the summer. When you knock off work in the afternoon, there’s still a whole evening ahead of you without the rush of school or activities the next day to clamp down with strict bed times. It allows room for planning a mouth-watering rib dinner with smoked cedar chips on the grill, a visit to the beach to collect sea glass, rock skipping showdowns, and a dip in the water with the warmth of the afternoon summer sun, before the tide chases you back to shore. And finally put the finishing touches on that dinner for some lucky friends to enjoy.
Don’t judge me. I might have licked clean more than my fair share of rib bones that night.
It has been a couple of years since I got to photograph this family. I am so ever grateful that I get to do this again for them, all of whom I adore with all my heart. My dear friends, you’ve been so kind to me and to ask me to do this for you is the biggest compliment and encouragement you could have given to me. You fill my cup with this, and with your friendship always. I hope these images will always remind you of this beautiful time in your life.
I would love to capture your unique everyday life and preserve those memories for days when they start to fade. So get in touch and we can start chatting about what’s important to you and your family to remember, years from now.
