You know those babies that have lots of rolls, their form so well defined by the lines between, like the Michelin Man? So chubby that you can see the fat on the tops of their feet? Yup! It's hard not to grin or want to squeeze the rolls when you happen upon a baby like that. I got lucky with this family, whose 6 month old baby girl has, in my opinion, taken the cake for Ms. Rollie Pollie!
Amanda and Tyler wanted a lifestyle storytelling session to capture their sweet life and to document the milestones of their baby girl at six months. It's a beautiful age to enjoy and extremely fun to photograph. In addition to sitting up, hair pulling, drooling up a storm, and loving to tip-toe walk before she's even attempted to crawl, she's got the personality to boot!
The day of our session was also the eve of her trying solids for the first time, so it was particularly sweet that we got to document a tender moment between mom and her nursling.

Happiest baby on the block, and I'm willing to bet, in the city. I don't think I heard a peep of disagreeable noise from her the entire time I was there, even when she got a mouthful of sand at the beach! I'm also convinced she got her chill baby demeanour from her parents, who showed concern for the said sand, but just rolled with the extraction and cleanup.
As we wrapped up the session at the trails near their house, the golden light was calling for some portraits of them and their rollie pollie baby girl. So very kissable! Amanda & Tyler, it means so very much to me that you have asked me to do this for you, especially since you, Amanda, are a photographer yourself. Thank you for your trust and hold on the next months of infancy with your girl, they go by so very very quickly!
