Vancouver Newborn Photographer | Sweet Pea Penelope
Baby Penelope decided that mid-November is a good time to make her appearance into this world. I couldn't agree more; after all, my youngest girl was born at this time of year too. Her parents always knew that this would be her name if they ever had a girl. It was decided long before they were even serious about starting a family. I think that kind of certainty can and should be met with everything these two parents ever asked for - a baby girl like this sweet pea.
Three weeks in, Karen and Sebastian are like old hands at this newborn business. Tag teaming for diaper changes, feeding, burping, and definitely lots of cooing and chatting with their little girl. These images are pretty tell tale of how much time they spend looking at her. They are equally smitten and in awe at how amazing this new life is, and she is all theirs ~ "and then there were three".
A warm wind blows along the west coast and it felt like early fall weather as we headed outside for some fresh air. There is one image of Karen, her expression of love and adoration, looking at her husband and father of her baby while he's kissing Penelope - that one melts me heart. Then we headed in for a little play time. Penelope tries AND masters her tummy time for the first time. She is one incredibly strong baby! Before Daddy has to head to work, he steals in some cuddle time with his baby girl. The way she looks back at him...
All the flurry of activity, throughout the house, outside, and play time makes for a sleepy baby. Karen has her wrapped up ready for slumber. This sweet mom hold her little cuddle bug, gently stroking her right cheek while sitting in the rocking chair by the window. Penelope takes a big yawn; she can hardly keep her eyes open. A sleeping baby is a thing of beauty to watch. It exudes the feel the quiet and calm that our hearts can even feel. It was such a lovely way to end our time together.
Thank you Karen and Sebastian, for welcoming me into your home and letting me capture a little slice of your family life. It is one full of love and tenderness that I hope you will be reminded of when you look back on these images! And Deacon, you are an amazing friend for gifting them this session, I am so glad you chose me to do this for them!
